Boys, hide your flannel, burn your pleated khakis, and trim that overgrowth of facial hair that you call a beard: the men of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy are coming to the City of Brotherly Love, and things are about to get willllllld, honey. The tremendously amazing Netflix reboot of the early 00’s hit is about to start filming its fourth season, and word broke on Reddit that Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and (Qweeeeen) Jonathan Van Ness would be heading to the Northeast.
The original post was a picture of a flyer that read: “Hello Philadelphia! Queer is coming to a neighborhood near you…” The internet immediately went in to a frenzy, nominating local celebrities for the Queer Eye treatment and making jokes about the rampant virus of “hoagie mouth” infecting the male population.
For those not in the know, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is a reality show where the “Fab Five,” a group of gay guys with amazing hair, conversational skills, and wit, take over the life of a hapless straight guy with no fashion sense and a dismal, stagnant life and work with him on his clothing, grooming, cooking, home decor, and talents to transform him into a Prince Charming version of himself and enable him to work towards goals that bring him happiness.
The first and second seasons of the show were set in Atlanta, Georgia. The third and most recent season, which dropped on Netflix in March, took place in the Midwest.
If you are interested in nominating the man in your life for a full-body makeover, e-mail [email protected] with the lucky guy’s name, his personal story, and plenty of pictures. Who knows? He could end up lowkey famous.
Per the Philly Voice:
This is the second, most-recent show to film in Philadelphia. “Married at First Sight” is wrapping its eighth season in Philadelphia on Lifetime, Tuesday, April 9, at 9 p.m.
