Panera Fans Rejoice! New Menu Item Only in Philly

I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this here, but Panera is my happy place. The fast-casual restaurant chain, which has locations throughout the United States, happens to be my favorite place to hang out and work for a few hours. The food is yummy, the vibe is mellow, and there is always someplace to plug in my laptop. Add all that to the fact that I can sip their iced green tea and stuff my face with a chocolate croissant? Heaven. I promise I’m getting to a point here. Panera is fantastic. That’s why it’s super exciting that they are test-driving a new menu item exclusively here in Philly.

The double bread-bowl, available only in Philadelphia’s 32 area locations, takes everything that you love about soup in a bread-bowl and doubles it. “Ideal for sharing with your BFF, significant other, or even a co-worker, the double bread bowl can include any two of Panera’s signature soups or Mac & Cheese,” said Panera in a press release.

The double bread-bowl is one loaf of Panera’s signature sourdough, but with two side-by-side cutouts. I know that the company says it’s great to share, but I’m dreaming of ordering two different soups and nomming my way into a carb-coma. Surely I can’t be the only one? Panera says that Philly is the perfect place to give the new product a try:

“We are excited to test the double bread bowl in the Philadelphia market for a limited time and hear feedback from our Philadelphia customers! Philadelphia was the right place to test this product both operationally and because we know we have a lot of great Panera fans in the market.”

Don’t wait too long to try out this new delicacy. The double bread-bowl will be available only from August 5th until the 31st.
