Consisting of a recording of the game, plus interviews, commentary, and plenty of extra to stoke the fires of any fanatic, these discs are coveted memorabilia. The Philadelphia Eagles’ Superbowl DVD is about to be released, and fans are going to absolutely love it… because it’s made by people who absolutely love the Eagles.

Eagles fans will have a commemorative Superbowl DVD to watch this week.

NFL Films, which creates the DVD of the winning team each year, says that the project – subtitled “PHI-FALLY” – was a labor of love for dozens of employees who have been waiting a lifetime to see their beloved Eagles shining in the spotlight. “We are in Mount Royal, New Jersey, which is about 20 minutes from the Linc,” said Todd Schmidt, who produces documentaries for NFL Films, to the Philadelphia Tribune. “So many of our people are lifelong fans of the Eagles, who have suffered for all those years. And that is something the becomes part of the film; we wanted people out there to understand what some of these people went through during that crazy game and this season.”

It’s a story for everyone, Schmidt goes on to explain: “I would love for an Arizona Cardinals fan to get the same bang out of this as my 22-year-old son and a lifelong Eagles fan will, and I like to think that the story will do that. This is more than a story of a football season. It’s about why teams and fans don’t quit, and that’s what Philly fans are like. They may get a lot of criticism, but there’s a reason Rocky means so much and showing the heart to never give up means so much.”

NFL films produces two DVDs for the two potential Superbowl winners each year, but obviously the Patriots one won’t ever be released.
