Okay, Swifties, listen up. If you are anything like me, you have had Taylor Swift’s new album, “Reputation,” on repeat since you downloaded your copy Friday morning. It can’t be just me, right? In any case, her long-awaited sixth album’s debut was quickly followed by more exciting news: Swift is going on tour! And said tour, which promises to be a near-religious experience for Tay-Tay’s fans, is coming to Philadelphia. Yes, Philly. Our queen will be in town on July 14th.
Taylor Swift is a native of Berks County and has won 10 Grammys. She will return to play Lincoln Financial Field for a fifth time, having previously performed there with back-to-back shows in June 2015 and July 2013, along with her debut in August 2011.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on December 13th. Fans can get in a virtual presale “line” for early tickets by becoming a “verified fan” on Ticketmaster. For the ultimate Swift fan, you can boost your place in line by purchasing physical copies of “Reputation,” buying Taylor Swift merchandise, and watching music- and behind-the-scenes videos on Swift’s website. Fans high enough in the presale queue can purchase tickets on November 28th.
According to the Philadelphia Patch, “Swift performed “…Ready For It?” and “Call It What You Want” from the Reputation album during a recent appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” The tour will be produced and promoted by the Messina Touring Group (MTG) and AEG Presents in North America, and Live Nation overseas.”
Taylor Swift is the only artist in history to have three albums (2010’s Speak Now, 2012’s RED and 2014’s 1989) sell over one million albums in their first week of release. “Reputation” is set to continue this streak, with projections putting its first-week sales at 1.2-1.7 million. She is the youngest person in history to win the music industry’s highest honor, The Grammy Award for Album of the year.
