There’s about to be a new player in the Center City hotel scene. Choice Hotels International, Inc., one of the world’s largest hotel companies, along with Pearl Properties and Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company, announced that the Cambria Hotel Philadelphia had been “topped off,” meaning that its final exterior beam was put in place.

The brand new Cambria will be located at 219 S. Broad Street on the smokin’ hot Avenue of the Arts. Situated in the heart of downtown Philly, the new hotel will be walkable to Kimmel Center, City Hall, Rittenhouse Square Park, Reading Terminal Market, One Liberty Observation Deck, Pennsylvania Convention Center, and countless other eateries, bars, and entertainment venues. Add to that the fact that there’s a SEPTA station right downstairs, and you have a lodging that combines comfort and convenience in an incredible way.

In a press release, Choice Hotels expressed their excitement about the new hotel: “We’re elated to see the construction progress at the Cambria Philadelphia. Philadelphia is a city known for its history, and we cannot wait to start writing our own and providing guests with an upscale and distinctive new option during their stay,” said Janis Cannon, senior vice president, upscale brands at Choice Hotels. “This flagship Cambria property located in the heart of Philadelphia is a prime example of our major urban expansion across the country in order to meet the growing needs of business and leisure travelers.”

The Cambria will feature onsite dining and a full bar, along with grab-and-go treats and a barista bar. One unique feature will be the 3,000 square foot rooftop bar, the only one on Broad Street. There will also be business and meeting space, and a fitness center described as “state of the art.”

The hotel will have 223 rooms spread over 15 stories. The Cambria Hotel Philadelphia will open in the first quarter of next year.
