Get ready, crafters of all ages! A.C. Moore is coming to Center City with a huge flagship store that’s going to knock your socks off. The 27,000-square-foot space previously occupied by a F.Y.E. (For Your Entertainmment) music store will now be downtown Philly’s hub for yard, cloth, paper, notions, glitter, and everything else that you need to bring your Pinterest boards to life! The store, which will open April 11th at 100 South Broad Street, will be the chain’s first-ever urban location. This is indicative of a trend taking place in Philly of big-box stores – Target, for example – moving into urban cores where once it was thought that you’d need a traditional parking lot for cars.
“We recognized a need in the Philadelphia retail space for a supplier of arts, crafts and home décor — all at competitive prices — and are taking advantage of the opportunity with this incredible new location,” A.C. Moore chief marketing and merchandising officer, Anthony Piperno told Philly.com.
The location, situated on the Avenue of the Arts (appropriately!) will be open to some of the city’s busiest foot traffic. A.C. Moore, which is headquartered in Berlin, New Jersey, will offer shoppers “a selection unparalleled to any of its kind in the nearby market,” said Piperno. In addition to all the craft goodies your heart might desire, the store will also offer custom framing, children’s activities, home decor, and fine art supplies. From Philadelphia Magazine: ”
