SPiN will feature the perfect environment for ping pong play, parties, tournaments, and corporate events.

First it was the axe-throwing place, now ping pong. You really can do anything for fun in Philadelphia.

News broke recently that SPiN, “The Original Ping Pong Social Club,” will be opening a Philadelphia location this July. It’s unlikely that the City of Brotherly Love will know what hit it. You might be thinking… why ping pong? Isn’t that a geeky pastime enjoyed by the likes of Forrest Gump and really intense Asian dudes? To that, I say… have you tried it? SPiN is banking on the fact that you haven’t, and that it’s just wacky enough for you to test out. And that, once you do, you’ll have a lot of fun.

According to a press release, “SPiN, the original ping pong social club from New York City, is a global brand renowned for its eclectic mix of high-energy social play, design and experiential entertainment.” And Philadelphia is just the place for ping pong, says SPiN CEO Pieter Vanermen, who noted that Philadelphians have perfected the balance between work and play, and lauds the city as “extraordinary, especially its celebration of art, food and music.”

At SPiN, up to 500 guests can fill out the spacious 12,000-square-foot location. There will be seventeen Olympic-caliber ping pong tables, private lounges, food available, and a bar. There’s a feast for the eyes and ears as well: as per the press release, “PiN will continue their tradition of creating multi-sensory interiors through the blending of graffiti, street style art, murals from local artists, and a House DJ booth that overlooks center court.” There will be private lessons, tournaments, walk-in games, and even ping pong parties! SPiN employs Event Professionals who can help you plan the perfect party, whether corporate or simply bringing your friends together.

SPiN is expanding globally. It currently has locations in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Toronto.
