Love Park is just one of Philly's many tourist draws. Find out about new destinations and events coming to Philly in 2017!

If you live in the City of Brotherly Love, or have even just visited a few times, you might think that you’ve experienced everything that the city has to offer. You’ve posed by the Liberty Bell, you’ve visited Betsy Ross’s house, you’ve run up the Rocky steps, and you’ve had your fill of cheesesteaks. Is Philly still “fresh” as a destination for tourists? Given the sheer number of new attractions coming to the city in 2017, I’d say that the answer is “yes.”

The website mySA, based out of San Antonio, rounded up “nine new reasons to visit the historic city and nearby communities.” To find out all of them, go check out their website.

One new tourist attraction coming to Philly next year is The Museum of the American Revolution, slated to open in mid-April. Located near Independence Hall, the museum will feature such fascinating historic artifacts as the original tent where George Washington made his headquarters, “immersive exhibits,” old documents, and Revolution-era weapons.

Families with kids will be drawn to Plymouth Meeting Mall, the site of America’s newest LEGOLAND Discovery Center. Aimed at little ones aged 3-10, the Discovery Center will feature all things LEGO, including a miniature replica of the city of Philadelphia composed completely of the building bricks. There will also be rides and interactive exhibits that the youngest members of your family will love.

If you are a Philly tourist, late April would be a great time to visit. The city will be hosting the NFL Draft, and there will be plenty of activities and festivities to go along with the event. There will be outdoor events, autograph signings, and a chance to snap a picture with the Vince Lombardi (Superbowl) trophy! The draft runs from April 27-29 and associated events will take place on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Like I said, this is just a sampling of the new tourist draws hitting Philadelphia in the New Year. It’s always a great time to visit Philly, but 2017 promises to be an exceptionally exciting year!
