Pat's Cheesesteak

Pat's Cheesesteak This week is a doozy for food lovers, and just one man is behind the two food events taking place in Philadelphia this week. If you’re a fan of the delicious food at Pat’s King Of Steaks (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), then two food events this week should have you marking your calendars.

Frank Olivieri is the man responsible for the food creations at Pat’s — which is a Philly institution since 1930. The week Pat’s hosting the third of the highly anticipated guest chef events. This new monthly series at Pat’s has been well recieved. The food is always tasty creations from the guest chefs, and all proceeds during the afternoon go directly to a charity of their choosing. This month, the guest chef is Robert Amar of Underdogs. This coming Thursday, February 18th, Amar will prepare Cheesesteak au Poivre. This delicious creation includes: beef topped with mushroom brandy cream sauce with green peppercorns, St.-Andre triple cream brie, and crispy French-fried onion string. The cost is a mere $10 and runs from 3-6pm.

Once you’ve had your cheesesteak fill for the week, Olivieri is making his own guest appearance just two days later. For lovers of Pat’s, this coming Saturday you can taste a classic cheesesteak creation directly on a pizza via “Pat’s King of Steaks Mushroom Cheese Steak Pizza.” Yes, it sounds a little weird but the Center City Team isn’t too proud to admit we’re fascinated at the prospect. Olivieri will be manning the wood-fired ovens as Liberty Hall Pizza‘s Guest Pizzaiolo; Olivieri will cook up two creations and the entire menu is also open to pizza-lovers.

With two great events happening in and around the Philly area, it’s be a delicious week for Philadelphia food lovers.
