Who doesn’t love “the Wheel?” Whether you are old or young, it’s a safe bet that you’ve watched “Wheel of Fortune,” one of the most popular and beloved game shows on TV. You know the premise: three contestants spin the iconic wheel for a chance to guess the letters of a mystery phrase up on the board. It’s hosted by Pat Sajak and the still-gorgeous Vanna White, and has been on the air for 33 years. Now, not for the first time, Wheel of Fortune is coming to Philadelphia. This time, it’s coming for a whole week! “Philly Week,” which will air later this season, is a celebration of all things Philadelphia.

Sajak and White have been in town all week shooting clips that will air on the show. White, in an interview with 6abc, called the City of Brotherly Love a “great city,” and complimented the whole experience of being here. Sajak says that he and White have been brought around to all the “hot spots and restaurants and tourist attractions,” all the better to expose the rest of the country to the delights that Philadelphia has to offer. The pair have been to Headhouse Square and the Reading Terminal Market. They even shared a classic Philly cheesesteak on the corner – conspicuously right in between Pat’s and Geno’s, presumably so as not to cause viewers to uproar over the rivalry. Sajak and White also visited the renowned Italian Market at Ralph’s (which is the oldest Italian restaurant in the country), and made the trek over to East Passyunk to the French restaurant Townsend. Sajak said that the exceptional eating has been one of the best aspects of the trip.

“Wheel of Fortune” airs locally at 7:30 on 6abc.
