TV talk show host Meredith Viera has purchased a pied-a-terre penthouse in New York City’s Upper West Side. Her new unit is located in the city’s famed El Dorado co-op, the building from which Bruce Willis recently just sold his home. Viera’s unit is a three-bedroom beauty, newly renovated in a delightful contemporary style.

Plenty of sunlight floods the living spaces of this elegant home.

The apartment first went on the market for a princely $10.5 million back in September, which was then chopped to $8.55 million. We don’t know exactly what Viera paid, but we do know that the former owner(s) paid $6.25 for it back in 2011. They have not lived in it since the reno, giving evidence that this may have been a flip job.

Two stunning terraces distinguish the apartment, which has seven spacious rooms. There’s a private elevator leading to the front door, a living room described as “loft-like,” and a luxurious formal dining room. Oak floors run throughout, there’s a double-sided fireplace, and the ceilings are ten feet high! The kitchen has room to eat-in, and is a gourmet dream. The home features an office, which could easily do double duty as a fourth bedroom.

As a building, El Dorado features plenty of amenities for its A-list residents! There’s an in-house gym and children’s playroom, a concierge and doorman, garage parking, and “community recreation facilities.”

The penthouse is across the street from Central Park, although it doesn’t face the park – which is probably the reason why it costs $8 million, instead of three times that amount! Still, Meredith need only take a brief stroll to enjoy everything that the park has to offer!
