The Best and Worst Celeb Neighbors For 2014

Have you ever imagined what it might be like to live next door to someone famous? I mean, borrowing a cup of sugar would never be the same. There’s a certain undeniable fascination with the concept of physical proximity to celebrity, an assumption that one becomes privy to a more private side of the famous that others aren’t lucky enough to see. After all, even celebrities have to take the trash out, or let the kids play in the yard. They come and go from home in their car – do they wave from the driveway?

Interestingly, not all celebrities are as desirable as potential neighbors as ever. Just ask the folks at Zillow. The real estate aggregators run an annual survey of homeowners to determine their most- and least-wanted celebrity neighbors. Have you ever considered who you would love – or loathe – to live next door to? The survey pretty much asked the same thing.

To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Justin Bieber won the award for worst celebrity neighbor… by a landslide. A full third of all the respondents said that the troublemaking teenibopper would be their worst neighborly nightmare. This isn’t at all a shocker, considering the Biebs’ penchant for loud parties and slinging eggs at his neighbors. Last year’s winners for worst neighbors, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, slipped down to second place. Bringing up the rest of the top (bottom?) five – Miley Cyrus, Donald Trump, and Alec Baldwin.

In terms of best neighbors, Jimmy Fallon swept the category for the second year in a row. People also expressed a desire to live near Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Neil Patrick Harris, and Matthew McConaughey. Interestingly, Taylor Swift appeared on both the best and worst neighbor lists, although she appeared higher on the former.
