The Batemans' home will enchant anyone with a preference for clean midcentury lines.

Arrested Development star Jason Bateman just listed his ultra-pretty midcentury Hollywood home. Bateman and his wife, Amanda, have owned the Laurel Canyon home for the last ten+ years. They bought it in 2002 for $885,000 and put it on the market for $2.25 million.

The Batemans’ home will enchant anyone with a preference for clean midcentury lines.

Even the name of the street it’s on evokes dreaminess: Wonderland Park Avenue.

The midcentury look is super hip right now, and Bateman’s pad has that old school-new school charm going on in spades. Casa Bateman, built in 1953, features all sorts of period trim: glass walls and doors, beamed ceilings, and luscious hardwood floors. There’s a sexy, angular fireplace in the living room and an elongated kitchen island with plenty of space for food prep and entertaining alike. A skylight in the kitchen allows even more light to stream into the mega-airy open living space. All this exquisite room comes with a view: the backyard is lushly landscaped, boasting tasteful gardens and a waterfall flowing into a koi pond, as well as a roomy second-floor terrace accessible by a wide outdoor staircase. There’s even a play area for the kiddos. The secluded pad has one gated entry for vehicles and another for pedestrians.

As spacious as it is beautiful, the home sports 2,879 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

The Batemans are trading one lovely nest for another, having scooped up the late Ernest Borgnine’s estate last year for $3 million. They’ve spent the last 18 months or so on renovations, and speculation abounds that the listing of their old homes means that the new one is finally ready.
