Yesterday it was J.Lo, today it’s J.Law.

Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar winner and close contender for America’s Sweetheart, recently shelled out for a new home sweet home in the Hidden Valley community of Beverly Hills. Public records show that the home sold for $8.225 million, a healthy appreciation from its 2013 selling price of $6.4 million.

The French-style abode (reportedly inspired by the architecture of the Hamptons) sports 5,550 square feet of living space, including five bedrooms, a home gym and a chef’s kitchen. The latter features dual ranges, a sizable center island topped with butcher block, and heaps of storage space. A winding staircase draws the eye up to tall ceilings, and much of the living space opens up to the surrounding gardens. There’s a massive pool, a koi pond, and grounds comparable to the lush lawns of a park, with ample hanging trees and shrubbery for luxuriant privacy.

Lawrence is far from the home’s first famous owner: previous residents include Ellen DeGeneres and Jessica Simpson.

Jennifer Lawrence will be seen next in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part I, which opens later this fall. We know she wields a mean bow-and-arrow as Katniss Everdeen, but that’s not all she’s known for. Lawrence has been a perennial fixture in gossip columns lately, first as the most visible victim of the massive celeb photo hacking dubbed “The Fappening,” and also for her reportedly burgeoning romance with Coldplay frontman (and recent divorcee) Chris Martin. Here’s hoping Lawrence hears less scandal and more beautiful music in her new nest.

Happy housewarming, Jenn!
