The Thursday Three: In Praise of the Bay Window

delancey

Just look at this one - the elegance you expect from Rittenhouse Square, with a great front view of Delancey Street. Heavenly!

If you’ve ever watched House Hunters or any other of those (hella fake) HGTV home-buyer-reality shows, you know that natural light is one of the most-desired selling points in a home. After all, you can knock down walls to create an open floorplan or slather your ugly kitchen in stainless, granite, and subway tile… but you can’t – to the best of my knowledge – fake a favorable exposure.

Bay windows make the best of a great view or a direct hit of sunlight because there’s more pane for your money, so to speak. Plus, they look absolutely adorable when decking out the front of a home. I took a quick minute and found three examples of homes on the market with cute bay windows, so you have a visual reference for these swoonworthy details.
