Love is in the air in Center City and all over town couples are finalizing their Valentine’s Day plans. If you waited a little to long to book a table at your favorite restaurant you may be in a jam. If your usual favorite restaurants aren’t available, check out our top picks for your last minute Valentine’s Day plans in Philadelphia:
1. Tequila’s Restaurant: Rittenhouse, 1602 Locust Street, 215-546-0181. Awesome traditional Mexican food, awesome ambiance and make sure you order the Mexican coffee with desert.
2. Positano Coast: Old City, 212 Walnut Street, 215-238-0499. Italian food but largely Mediterranean inspired so lots of fish, shellfish, great raw bar and incredible drinks. Quite possibly the best restaurant in Philadelphia.
3. Bar Ferdinand: Northern Liberties, 1030 N. 2nd Street, 215-923-1313. Spanish tapas Amada style with a NoLibs feel. The Sangria is to die for.
4. Doma: Fairmount, 1822 Callowhill St, 215.564. 1114. Hands down the best sushi in Center City. BYOB, ask for the Naked Salmon roll and garlic edamame.
5. Hawthornes: Bella Vista, 738 S. 11th Street, 215-627-3012. Beer botique known mostly for it’s incredible brunches and ultra comfortable atmosphere but Hathorne’s makes a great dinner too and they’re running a Valentine’s Day special. This place is a must visit for craft beer drinkers.
6. Zahav: Society Hill, 237 St. James Place, 215-625-8800. Solomonov classic, great food, great wine, perfect for going with friends and sharing plates. Don’t miss out on the halloumi cheese appetizer.
7. La Fontana de la Cita: Rittenhouse Square, 1701 Spruce Street, 215-875-9990. Best traditional Italian food in Center City. If you’re craving chicken parm or spaghetti and meatballs this is your spot. Byob so don’t forget a few bottles of red.
