The Inquirer is reporting that Wynn Resorts is, for the second time in three years, withdrawing its application for Philadelphia’s second casino license.
“The board took a host of factors into consideration, including the Philadelphia market performance over the past year and the competition which will result from the recent approval of gaming” the company said in a statement.
Wynn bragged about its ability to create a casino resort on the Delaware that would entice wealthy gamblers to Philly and totally revolutionize the Philly gaming industry but in the end, a la 2010 with the Foxwoods project, Wynn pulled out with little or no explanation.
