When last we checked in on WalkScore they were just releasing their newly calculated TransitScores and BikeScores.  Yesterday they released their 2014 WalkScore rankings and the City of Brotherly Love landed at 4th most walkable behind Boston, San Fran and New York.  The entire list of largest US cities is below.  Overall Philadelphia scored 76.5, a score that indicates “most errands can be accomplished on foot”,  however most of the Center City neighborhoods ranked in the high 90’s for Walk Score, Transit Score and Bike Score.

  3. Boston – Walk Score: 79.5
  4. Philadelphia – Walk Score: 76.5
  5. Miami – Walk Score: 75.6

  7. Washington D.C. – Walk Score: 74.1
  8. Seattle – Walk Score: 70.8
  9. Oakland – Walk Score: 68.5
  10. Baltimore – Walk Score: 66.2

Walkscore boasts that their algorithm analyses “over 10 million addresses and 2 billion walking routes for 2,500 U.S. cities and more than 10,000 neighborhoods.”  Make sure to double check all of your favorites cities because the scores may have changed dramatically from last year due to 2014 methodolgy updates.
