Vedge, one of the best vegan restaurants in Philadelphia is now going to be in Rittenhouse Square at 126 S. 19th Street. Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby have just signed a lease for their second restaurant; their first location is in Washington Square at 1221 Locust Street. The new venture is set to open March 1, and will be a bit more daring than the original Vedge. The somewhat small space will feature an open kitchen, an edgy menu and an upbeat vibe.
The bar cocktails are fun and innovative made with homemade syrups. Vedge features wines and beers that represent the best of the natural and craft movements in beer making. The dinner menu offers everything from wood-grilled broccolini made with shiitake dashi topped with crushed sesame to whipped white eggplant splashed with saffron gravy. Don’t forget desert- Vedge makes a delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding with smoked pecan ice cream and brown sugar date cake. We can’t wait to see what the new menu has to offer!
