House Hunting Tips-  You are ready to buy a house! Somewhere out there is the dream home you have been searching for! Now how to you find it? There are countless resources available to today’s home buyers. Where do you start the search for your new home?

A recent national consumer survey of home buyers who bought a home in the past year thought to ask just that question. The research found that almost two-thirds (2/3) of home buyers relied on a variety of resources , beyond just their agents, when looking for a new home. But where exactly do people tend to turn to besides their trusty agent?

The traditional methods of house hunting, like newspaper listings and yard signs, are significantly less important in today’s digital age. Moreover, five (5) of the six (6) top sources used by those looking to buy a home were online. When house hunting online, people most regularly turn to a real estate website (63%), the website of their real estate agent (43%), a general search engine (39%) and a real estate brokerage website (35%). Although home searches rely on the internet, riding through a neighborhood continues to be an important source of information for a home search (54%). Only a small number of people (2%) do not use any sources other than their agent.
