The Queen Village Neighborhood Association Sustainability Committee was awarded a grant to be used towards creating a dog waste composting station. The project is the first of its kind in Center City and is the latest step towards educating residents about dog waste and water pollution. The QVNA Sustainability Committee also recently partnered with the Philadelphia Water Department to find a neighborhood spokesdog that will promote Queen Village as a pollution free neighborhood. According to their website, QVNA has funded projects for improvements in Mario Lanza Park, Southwark Queen Village Community Garden, Bodine Street Community Garden, Friends of Shot Tower and others
