Balance is located in the heart of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA. They are a small fitness studio focused on personal training, indoor cycling and small group fitness classes. They also specialize in training for sports such as football, lacrosse, baseball, squash, tennis, golf and triathlon/marathon training. AM Rush
Get pumped up for your day! This high intensity class will challenge every muscle in your body. It is a great full body toning class, which incorporates a broad range of athletic movements. This class is geared for those who want that intense cardio burn while toning the entire body. It’s a great way to start the day!
Balance Burn
Take the challenge and cross-train for improved overall fitness. A mix of cardio and strength will keep you coming back for more. Dedicated total body training that incorporates body weight training, resistance training, core-work, balance and flexibility training in non-stop results-oriented sequencing.
Barre/Pilates Fusion
A total body workout that slims your hips, tightens your thighs, lifts your seat, & mobilizes your metabolism. Utilizing ballet movements, intelligent isometrics, changes in rhythm, range of motion & progressive core training, your body heals, tightens, strengthens so you look, feel and move better.
Boot Camp
An advanced workout for the athlete in you. Squats, lunges, push-ups, and sit-ups follow high voltage cardio drills and plyometrics. This class will help build your strength, endurance and power. Reap the benefits of this ultimate calorie-burning workout . You know the drill…anything goes in Boot Camp!
Cycle/Circuit
A high energy combo class incorporating strength training and cycling. This 60 minute class will improve your strength and kick up your cardio.
Fit Factor
This highly efficient full body cardio strength combination class will help you gain confidence by increasing strength and cardiovascular endurance. Informed by the latest findings in exercise science and functional exercises, our instructor will focus on strengthening and fine-tuning major muscle groups. This cutting-edge workout makes use of various equipment.
Fit to a “T”RX
This class is designed to maximize calorie expenditure while tightening and toning those “key” trouble areas of the body. This is the perfect class for those of us who are looking to get in great shape quickly. Our instructor will give you the best workout you are capable of at your level, all the while improving your core strength, flexibility and posture.
Indoor Cycling
(30 & 60 Minute)
A cardio workout on a “State of the Art” Keiser stationary cycles! Classes are technique based and/or real terrain based and the focus is on cadence and heart-rate zones. Each instructor designs their class with climbs & sprints that will make your workout challenging and unpredictable. Burn at least 500 calories per class. Bring your own cycling shoes with Shimano clips or wear sneakers! 30 Minute Classes are scheduled to be combined with other classes for those who want the cross training experience.
Inner Strength
A fusion of yoga and strength designed to empower your mind and strengthen your body as you move through a series of meaningful poses with light weights.
Jazz Dance
Join Henry Roy on Saturday mornings for a challenging modern/jazz dance workout! The objectives of this class are to strengthen, expand, and enhance the students existing knowledge of Jazz dance both mentally and physically (strength and flexibility), boost the students ability to pick up, remember, and confidently execute jazz movement (mental acrobatics).

Tabata
The basis of Tabata Training is 4 minutes of intense interval training/circuit training. Tabata is done with a number of different exercises selected by the instructor so it’s always changing! The idea is to use an exercise that gets the whole body involved or at least the major muscle groups. You perform an exercise as hard as you can for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and Repeat 7 more times for a total of 8 sets for a total of 4 minutes of workout time. The 4 minute circuit is performed 4-5 times in a 30 minute class.
Total TRX
This training is the full package. It works on functional strength, flexibility, balance and core stability in every exercise. Turn your workout upside down and change your body without lifting a single weight! This workout makes use of a simple strap with handles whose suspension design uses body weight and the laws of physics to create hundreds of exercise progressions with virtually unlimited levels of resistance. The program incorporates highly functional exercises to develop lean and powerful muscle throughout the entire body.
Yoga/Pilates Fusion
The perfect blend of yoga & pilates. A combination of traditional yoga poses to improve strength, balance and flexibility combined with building the deep muscles of the body’s core through pilates.
Zumba
Heat it up! Burn calories while you shake up your workout. Experience the energy of dancing to a “hot” Latin-fused workout. Zumba classes feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you’ve got a Zumba® class! . Turn up the heat!
