Philadelphia City Planning Commission recently approved a zoning bill that will bring an amazing new Whole Foods to the Art Museum Area in Center City, Philadelphia. The new bill will allow developer Neal Rodin the ability to transform a tired 3 acre site near 22nd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue that currently houses an ugly Best Western into Rodin Square, a mixed use complex that will house a new Philadelphia Whole Foods, retail space and residential apartments.
As more details become available it looks like the project will look something like this:
Property will house 55,000 square foot Whole Foods, two retail tenants, and 293 luxury apartments
172 parking space for Whole Foods will be located beneath the store in an underground parking lot
271 residential car spaces and 108 bike parking spaceswill be housed in adjacent garage. 43 parking spaces for retail parking will be available as well.
Amenities will include community room, pool, 50,000 square foot green roof, gym and business center.
