Don’t Miss: The Art of Golf at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia Real Estate Blog

Yo Philadelphia Real Estate community, don’t miss out on a really great exhibit entitled “The Art of Golf” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from now until July 7, 2013.  This will help get you ready for the 2013 US Open June 10-16th at Merion Country Club.

Coinciding with the upcoming U.S. Open Championship at Merion Golf Club, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is hosting a new exhibition honoring The Art of Golf. The centerpiece of the exhibition, The Golfers (1847) by Scottish painter Charles Lees, is a monumental oil painting depicting 54 golfers on the greens of St. Andrews, Scotland. The roots of modern golf can be traced to the east coast of Scotland, where golfers from all levels of society have played the game since at least the 15th Century. In addition to paintings, sketches and sculptures from Scottish artists, The Art of Golf features photographs, golf apparel and more.
