Queen Village Raising Money For Community Center

Hey Philadelphia Real Estate community, are you feeling generous this holiday season?  The Queen Village Neighborhood Association hopes so.  The QVNA has started raising money to build the Queen Village Community Center, an indo0r recreational center located alongside the recently renovated Weccacoe Playground.
IMAGINE A PLACE for children to learn and play after school…
IMAGINE A PLACE for families to hold gatherings that are too big for their living rooms…
IMAGINE A PLACE for adults to gather and share ideas and socialize…
IMAGINE A PLACE for seniors to spend time together…
IMAGINE the QUEEN VILLAGE COMMUNITY CENTER…
To make this dream a reality, to build the QVCC alongside the new Weccacoe Playground, Queen Village needs to raise $250,000 by March 1, 2013.  Why the need for the new community center?  Here’s a list from the Schematic Improvement Package:
• Lack of insulation on the masonry structure
• Inefficient heating and cooling system
• Public restrooms that are not ADA accessible or properly vented
• Lack of visibility to the playground from within the building
• Lack of natural day light and ventilation within the building
• Inadequate wall treatment and finishes for diversity of building programming
• Inadequate storage space for community room functions
• Several locations of rotting wood and damaged metal fascia along roof eaves
• Water damage to building’s interior due to leaking roof in multiple locations
• Lack of neighborhood identity within the Queen Village community
• Lack of adequate community room trash storage
• Unidentifiable building entrance
If you want to help transform today’s run-down Weccacoe Recreation Center into tomorrow’s Queen Village Community Center, please make your tax-deductible donation TODAY at the secure QVCC site.
