It’s that time of the year again when the entire Philadelphia Real Estate community enjoys the eating and drinking excesses that come with Thanksgiving Day! With that in mind, here’s a list of my Top 5 Thanksgiving Activities In Philadelphia:
Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade
The 1.4-mile 6abc Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day parade is the oldest in the country and a true Philadelphia tradition. The city streets make way for massive floats and giant balloons, plus local performers from choirs, dance groups, marching bands and more. And Santa himself arrives in grand fashion, ushering Philadelphia into the holiday season. This year’s parade promises another visual and celebratory feast. So bundle up, grab the kids or a group of friends and head out for an early holiday treat. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2012. The parade broadcast begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at approximately 12 noon.

You can’t get more traditional than the City Tavern, the Old City restaurant that serves up colonial food year-round (complete with servers dressed in period garb). For Thanksgiving the City Tavern is offering a set-menu, family style meal.

Christmas Village Grand Opening at LOVE Park
Philadelphia will once again transform into European wonderland for the annual Christmas Village at Love Park. The Christmas Village sponsored by OneMain Financial opens to the public Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 22) and runs until Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24). Love Park will be aglow for the holiday season as the Village’s cozy atmosphere is decorated with thousands of lights and the city of Philadelphia’s official Christmas Tree (to be lit on December 5). Get into the Christmas spirit as you wander through the outdoor market with the smell of waffles and gingerbread wafting through the air.
