Philly To New York In 37 Minutes On High Speed Amtrak

Philly.com reports that Amtrak’s $151 billion plan to redevelop the entire Northeast Corridor for high speed train travel will result in 37 minute trips between Philadelphia and New York.  The change will not happen overnight but rather will be phased in as the existing infrastructure is improved.  Eventually high speed lines running from Washington to Boston with trains traveling at 220 mph will exist.  Projections have the New York to Washington leg being completed by 2030 and the New York to Boston leg completed by 2040.
