Logan Square – Forest City, the owners of The Museum Towers, located at 1801 Buttonwood Street in Center City, are planning to develop Museum Towers II on property located between 18th and 19th streets and between Callowhill and Hamilton streets. The proposed building includes a 16-story high rise, town houses, and a four-story above-ground parking garage. There is no timeline set for the project but the developer is cooperating with the Logan Square Neighborhood Association and the project has neighborhood support.
Here’s a little bit about the The Museum Towers and the developer from their website:
Located in Center City just blocks away from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Museum Towers offers luxury high-rise living in an urban setting with just a little more open space. Situated where the high-rises meet the neighborhoods, Museum Towers offers the perfect home to get away from the hustle and bustle while still being able enjoy the excitement of the city. Each apartment home features spacious rooms, full kitchens with microwaves, and in-suite washer and dryer. There’s also a ground-floor retail gallery with a deli/market.
The history of Forest City reads like a classic re-telling of the American dream. The Company was founded in 1920 after the Ratowczer (later changed to Ratner) family emigrated to the U.S. Through hard work and good fortune, the family lumberyard business – built by four siblings, Charles, Max, Leonard and Fannye Ratner – grew and expanded beyond the founders’ wildest dreams. The Company went public in 1960 and has established a national reputation as a property owner, manager and developer of some of the largest, and most prestigious, real estate projects in the country. Today, Forest City is driven by a commitment to our Core Values and a legacy of leadership that includes three generations of the Ratner, Miller and Shafran families.
Another exciting Center City development project to keep your eye on.
