Progress For Dranoff Building At Broad And South

Famed Philadelphia Developer Carl Dranoff hopes to build 80 residential units with retail, restaurants, coffee and a corner store on the Northeast intersection of Broad Street and South Street. The Philadelphia City Planning Commission recently recommended that city council pass legislation proposed by First District Councilman Frank DiCicco which allows for the commercial uses of the space and also allows for changes to the parking requirements. Dranoff’s argument is that less parking is required because of the project’s proximity to public transportation.  The revised development plan allows for 30 car parking spaces and 25 bicycle spaces.
