Dracula Festival at 20th and Delancey in Rittenhouse Square??

Philadephia Real Estate Blog – Dracula Festival Rittenhouse Square

Definitely didn’t see this one coming…Apparently The Rosenbach Museum & Library located at 2008-2010 Delancey Place in Rittenhouse Square is having thier 9th annual Dracula Festival.  For the last eight Octobers, the Rosenbach, which houses Bram Stoker’s original research notes and outlines for Dracula offers a month long series of events inspired by Stoker’s historic novel Dracula.

Here’s what the website has to say about the Dracula and Friends festival taking place from September 21, 2011 –  November 6, 2011:

Dracula, one of the most famous literary characters ever created, First appeared in an 1897 novel written by an Irish theater manager, Bram Stoker. The Rosenbach preserves 124 pages of Stoker’s working notes for the novel, which document his reading and research into the supernatural, including vampires, werewolves, and demons from around the world. This exhibit presents a selection of Stoker’s research notes, as well as a selection of “friends”—other literature about the supernatural from across the Rosenbach’s collections, including Increase Mather’s An Essay for the Recording of Illustrious Providences and John Polidori’s Byronic tale The Vampyre.
