Owner of Melrose Diner Purchases Broad Street Diner
Philly.com reports that the owner of the Melrose Diner, Michael Petrogiannis, recently purchased and started improvements on the long closed Broad Street Diner.
Philadelphia Real Estate Blog – Broad Street DinerThe diner, which has been closed for years, garnered city wide attention two years ago when Stephen Starr became interested in the property. Starr put the property under contract for a rumored $1,900,000, but did not proceed with the purchase citing environmental reasons. Located at the intersection of Broad and Ellsworth Streets -just steps from Center City Philadelphia- the once well-known diner is within walking distance of the Kimmel center, Theaters, Avenue of the Arts, High rise condos, Shopping, schools and public transportation. These factors and the fact that the diner will presumably be open 24 hours should make it a fan favorite for the Center City late night crowd.
