Bon Appetit recently compiled a list of the the best new restaurants in America for 2011. Listed at #6 was our very own Talula’s Garden located adjacent to the Ayer Condominium in Philadelphia neighborhood Washington Square. Talula’s Garden is the joint venture by Amee Oxley and Stephen Starr and offers “seasonal food inspired by the farm and garden”. Aimee Olexy’s claim to fame was the intimate cafe Django, previously located at 4th and South, launched with her then-husband chef Bryan Sikora. In 2007 the couple open Talula’s Table in Kennett Square. Talula’s Table serves a single farm-sourced dinner each night around its folksy 12-seat pine farm table, a meal so exquisite that it remains the toughest reservation in and around Philadelphia. The average wait is 1 year.
