Two prominent Philadelphia restaurateurs will open a new Center City restaurant in the coming weeks.Philadelphia Real Estate – Stephen Starr
As I blogged about previously, Stephen Starr, Philadelphia restaurateur extraordinaire will open an Italian restaurant, Il Pittore, at 2025 Sansom St., in late September/October. This project will be a collaboration with Chef Chris Painter, Starr Restaurant’s director of menu development.
Also coming to Center City, Chef Georges Perrier open Tryst in the downstairs of Perrier’s Le Bec-Fin, at 1523 Walnut St. Perrier will collaborate with Chef Nicholas Elmi on this project. Tryst will serve “modern French fare” and the opening is slated for August 22nd.
For those who don’t know, Le Bec-Fin is a prominent Center City Philadelphia French restaurant that opened in 1970. Perrier named the restaurant after the French colloquialism for “Fine Palate”. The restaurant has previously been rated as America’s finest French restaurant and has recieved a five star rating for nearly its entire existence. Perrier announced in July 2010 that he planned to close the restaurant in Spring 2011 and in fact the building was for sale however on New Year’s Eve 2010, he announced to restaurant patrons that he would keep the restaurant open.
Here is a list of Stephen Starr’s Philadelphia Restaurants:
