• Philadelphia neighborhood University City gets Philadelphia’s first “parklet”. The parklet is located across the street from Clark Park and is essentially an elevated platform with tables, chairs and flowers that sits on the street. This is Philly’s most recent attempt to create more green space and I personally love it. Rumor has it that two more parklets will be created shortly and I’m hoping at least one is in Center City somewhere. (PlanPhilly.com)
• Race Street Pier, the just opened waterfront park at Race Street and Delaware Ave(part of the grandiose master plan for the Central Delwaware) is hosting a First Friday event TONIGHT with food, live music and hopefully lots of fellow Philadelphians. FINALLY we are getting something decent out of our waterfront real estate. (PlanPhilly.com)
• Philadelphia is officially the 8th best city for bachelors – due largely to the overwhelming ratio of single women to men. (CNBC.com)
• The Bin Laden Group is attempting to build the tallest building in the world in Saudi Arabia. I think we should let them finish and then send SEAL Team 6 in to knock it down. (Bubblemeter)
• The DOW dropped 500 points this week and mortgage interest rates reached new lows…again. (WSJ.com)
• On a final note, Google + sucks and I’m never using it.
