Super Fresh to replace Pathmark at Bart Blatstein’s Piazza in Northern Liberties!
Rumors are swirling regarding the planned Pathmark at Bart Blatstein’s Schmidt’s Brewery development in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. The Great Altantic & Pacific Tea Co., which owns Pathmark, will rebrand the 52,000-square-foot store as a Super Fresh. The deal is not finalized but those familiar with the negotiations believe the deal will be finalized shortly. Pathmark was slotted to move into the location until A&P, Pathmark’s parent company, filed bankruptcy in December 2010. No question this is good news for Northern Liberties residents although I’m sure many were hoping that a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods would end up in the location.
