Check out the video above.  Jonathan Miller, consultant, founder of Manhattan real estate appraisal firms Miller Samuel and Miller Cicero recently gave an interview to Bloomberg Law in which he predicted 5 more years of high foreclosure rates nationally. Philadelphia foreclosure rates are still considered to be low in a national context, especially for a large metropolitan area. As Kevin Gillen has pointed out, this is attributable to the strength and stability of the Education and Medical industries in Philadelphia. Miller also notes that the key to fixing housing is to reduce unemployment. The supports the old real estate maxim that employment and consumer confidence dictate the strength of the housing economy.
