Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the Greater Philadelphia Region
Philadelphia County – Median Sale Price: $139,900
It’s time for the annual celebration of all things green – St. Patrick’s Day! As March 17th is rapidly approaching, we’ve scouted out some of the best activities, parades and Irish Pubs in the Greater Philadelphia Area. For those of you with homes on your St. Patrick’s Day wish list, we’ve included median sales price* for each of the areas highlighted below.
For the most popular Irish pub crawl in Philadelphia, take a ride on The Erin Express on March 13th. Started by William Pawliczek of Cavanaugh’s and Paul Ryan, Sr. of Smokey Joe’s over 30 years ago, the Erin Express now attracts thousands of people from around the Greater Philadelphia area. This year’s stops include famous watering holes such as The Blarney Stone, Westy’s, Kelliann’s and Gallagher’s. There is no cost or tickets needed to partake in this event, and to top it off, there will be free bus transportation from 12:00 p.m. -5:30 p.m. Show up to any participating bar, get a beverage and when you’re ready to move on, go outside and a bus should arrive every 15-20 minutes to take you to the next bar.
For a truly authentic experience, stop by Fado Irish Pub and Restaurant in Center City Philadelphia. Meaning “long ago” in Gaelic, Fado features a maze of nooks and crannies that are perfect for an intimate date or St. Patty’s day celebration with a large group of friends. Nightly entertainments include traditional Irish music, and raucous televised rugby and soccer matches.
