Logan Square
Sandwiched Between Rittenhouse and Ben Franklin Parkway
Logan Square is a name given to the neighborhood in Center City Philadelphia that is North of Market Street, South of Spring Garden Street, West of Broad Street, and East of the Schuylkill River. Logan Square is named for having one of the five “squares”, or parks, central to William Penn’s design for Philadelphia. Logan Square itself was named after James Logan, the eighteenth-century mayor of Philadelphia. Logan Square is known as the museum district of Center City and most of Philadelphia’s prominent museums are located in the Logan Square neighborhood. The Cherry Street Tavern is a bar and restaurant located at 22nd and Cherry Streets in the Logan Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is notable for being a local landmark having been operated in the same location since the early 1900s. Logan Square’s boundaries for real estate purposes are Market Street to the North, Spring Garden Street to the South, Broad Street to the East, and the Schuylkill River to the West.
