Best Eats in Philly

Here at the Center City Team, we are all locals and we love two things: our city, and food! Luckily, Philadelphia has some of the best eats in the United States. And while we love a good Philly cheese steak (how could we not!), we also love the diversity of cuisine found in every pocket of the city.

Many of our favorite Philly neighborhoods offer world-class chefs serving up artisan, gourmet fare right alongside hole-in-the-wall restaurants serving up fascinating ethnic eats and fusion foods.

In short, it’s impossible to get bored of our food scene. Here we share the best eats in Philly—and nothing is off limits! Food halls, fine-dining, and burger shacks, if it’s good food then you can be sure a member of the Center City Team has mowed down there and shared the tale for all hoping to find great new places to eat in Philly.

We hope you enjoy the advice we offer here, and if you need additional information on anything, or to speak with one of our real estate agents, contact the Center City Team: 215.440.2093

On the Hunt For Center City’s Best Bagels

I’m sure that there’s someone reading this who doesn’t enjoy a good bagel, but I don’t want to meet them. (Just kidding. Sort of.) A token of esteem from America’s rich, diverse Jewish emigres, the bagel is the perfect breakfast food. You can slather it in cream cheese of any kind – what folks call a schmear – or drape […]

The Best Farmers Markets in Center City and Beyond

There’s nothing like the produce, baked foods, and farmstand goodies that you can get at your local farmers market. Unfortunately, in Philadelphia, the majority of markets are closed until spring warms the city again. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few hearty stragglers, but exploring long rows of stands with your reusable bag is a April-ish game. Right now […]

New Philly Steakhouse Keeps Traditions Alive

The recently-reno’d Atlantic building at Broad and Spruce Streets just south of City Hall will house an enormous new high-end steakhouse come springtime. Steak 48, a Midwestern chain, will fill the 12,000 square foot space left vacant by former steakhouses Ruth’s Chris and Ted’s Montana Grill on the first floor. The upper floors of the Atlantic are dedicated to swanky […]

Living The Sweet Life at Shane Confectionery

Looking to sate your sweet tooth? The cure for what ails you is right in Old City. There, on Market Street (which, back in 1863, was called “the High Street”) sits a modest sweets shop called Shane Confectionery. But things are far from ordinary inside this establishment. Born in Philadelphia during the time of the Civil War, this candy store […]

Beloved Veggie-Focused Resto Coming to Center City

There are plenty of veggie-focused restos in Center City, a nexus for eateries of all kinds, and there’s no shortage of farm-to-table either. Both these concepts are ones that hip diners are really focusing on these days, and, for the most part, downtown delivers. Still, there’s something exciting about the Philadelphia edition of a well-known from-scratch fast casual eatery, beloved […]

Philly’s Tiniest Wawa Open in Center City

In a large metropolis like Philadelphia, things are usually bigger. The skyscrapers reach tall towards the clouds, the parks are vast and littered with historical markers, and flagshop store locations feature perhaps three floors of retail where their suburban counterparts have only one. But is bigger always better? Not necessarily. Old City Philadelphia is home to the world’s largest Wawa […]

Bars Brawl Over Decadent Decking of the Halls, Customers Win

There’s only nine more days until Christmas… can you believe it? I don’t know about you, but I’m fully in the spirit. I’m halfway done wrapping my Amazonian mountain of gifts – meaning that it is both huge and consists of Amazon boxes – my tree has been up and shining for several weeks, and my cards have all been […]
