It’s impossible to walk into Spin and not notice the incredible art. The aesthetic elements are courtesy of King Saladeen (real name Raheem Saladeen Johnson), a Philadelphia artist who specializes in a street art look and bear motifs. “A lot of my artwork has a lot of themes from Philadelphia,” he told Penn Live. “I actually put one of the SEPTA trains by my iconic bear just because I caught the train so many times, so for me to do something like this and represent Philadelphia I had to tie that in.”

Spin creative director Mathieu Forget said that, in designing Spin, he aimed to marry street art and luxury spirit, all while keeping the space feeling very “Philadelphia.” He reports that he brought lots of items in that he had found right there in the city, like a vintage motorcycle at a thrift shop. All in all, Spin has an eclectic look and feel to it. There is a “red room,” with red being Spin’s signature color, as well as scratch-and-sniff cherry walls in the bathrooms.

There are seventeen ping pong tables at Spin, all Olympic-grade. According to Penn Live: “Price points range from $15-$22 per half hour and $25-$39 per hour depending on the day and time for walk-ins, while the league membership is $600 per team, with a minimum of four players per team. You can also join the league as a free agent for $150.”

Food and drinks abound, with a clever and yummy menu. Happy hour runs from 5-7 pm during weekdays and includes specials like discount-priced snacks, beers, and cocktails.
