“Hamilton” was written and starred in by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who originated the role of Hamilton. The show won numerous Tony awards as well as the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

According to Penn Live: “The musical also has some Pennsylvania ties — beyond the fact it covers the Constitutional Convention (which was held in Philadelphia). Original cast member Leslie Odom, Jr.,who played Aaron Burr, grew up in Philadelphia and went to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Jonathan Groff who played King George in the original cast, is from the Lancaster-area and also attended Carnegie Mellon. Javier Munoz, who played Hamilton after Miranda, used to work at Hersheypark.”
