For football fans, late winter is a rough time. The Super Bowl is over and, aside from idle speculation, there’s not much action going on in the pigskin world. The drought meets an oasis with the NFL Draft, which is one of fans’ most exciting times of the year. And it’s especially exciting for Philadelphia fans, who get the privilege of hosting the draft on their own turf this year. More details have been announced about the draft, which 200,000 people are expected to attend.
First things first. Getting into the actual draft will not be easy. There are limited tickets available to the public, and the way to get one’s hands on them is not cut-and-dry. As per a statement by the NFL: “A limited number of tickets will be made available for the theater. Information regarding obtaining these tickets will be released in the weeks ahead. No tickets are required for the free NFL Draft Experience. In early March, fans may download the NFL Draft – Fan Mobile Pass app at NFL.com/FanMobilePass. By registering for Fan Mobile Pass, fans are not only eligible to win tickets to the 2017 NFL Draft, but also receive exclusive access to all of the action at NFL Draft Experience.”
For those who don’t get in on the actual draft, there is the Fan Experience, which will be held along the half-mile stretch of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Presented by Oikos Triple Zero, the Experience will last for three days and be suitable for football fans of all ages. Fans can do cool stuff like pose with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, experience an NFL football game in virtual reality, check out replicas of the NFC and AFC lockers rooms, watch SportsCenter broadcasting live from the draft, and stop by the NFL Shop which will have a vast assortment of draft gear, including hats and customizable jerseys.
