Both candidates, Clinton and Trump, are focusing their attention on Pennsylvania as the state is considered to be a battleground state in this year’s election. Pennsylvania generally goes blue, and hasn’t voted for a Republican candidate since World War II. Things are trending differently this year, and Team Trump clearly is trying to press their advantage. Trump himself has appeared in Philadelphia and in Pennsylvania many times lately, the latest of which was at an event held in in Manheim, Pennsylvania in Lancaster County Saturday.

Clinton’s own allies have been out in force stumping for the former First Lady on the campaign trail. Both Vice President Joe Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama have been in Philadelphia recently, holding rallies at local colleges last week in hopes of gather support and votes for Clinton. The question for Hillary Clinton seems to be one of voter engagement, say politicos. Voters – especially black voters – turned out en masse to vote for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, fired up by his message and overall vision as a candidate. There has been speculation that Clinton will not hold the same appeal for these voters. It remains to be seen how much Kaine will be able to do for Clinton’s image.
