1.) Sisters Joy and Ramona Mallory are ready to take the Philadelphia fashion scene by storm… and they are doing it on wheels. The sisters came up with the totally unique concept of a mobile clothing store, called Fashion in the City. The fashion truck comes equipped with a fitting room and the latest in sartorial trend, all priced under $100. Need to know when Fashion in the City will be parking near you? The Mallory sisters are launching an app that will allow you to track the truck’s movements.

2.) Beer gardens are very on-trend right now, and Philadelphia’s getting a new one in an unexpected place: the zoo. The Philadelphia Zoo will open “The Watering Hole” in either late June or early July. The beer garden will be open to all admitted patrons, and will be located on the south side of the zoo near the Eagles Roost eating spot. Groundswell Designs did the layout for the new hangout. Eagle’s Roost and Tiger Terrace just started selling beer and wine recently. The choices at The Watering Hole aren’t plentiful -“the beers are Bud Light, Stella Artois, and Goose Island 312 for $6 and the two wines are from the cellars Robert Mondavi for $8,” as per the Philadelphia Inquirer, but the cups will be eco-friendly.

3.) The popular ABC show Shark Tank will be holding open casting at Temple University this Saturday, June 11th. Business students, alumni, faculty, and staff will have the chance to pitch their best entrepreneurial ideas to the distinguished panel of “sharks” (investors) in hopes of securing funding for a start-up. In six seasons, the self-made millionaires and billionaires on the show have invested $66 million into ideas from normal Joes from around the country. According to Biz Philly, “the casting session will be held at Alter Hall at the Fox School of Business and involves a quick one-minute pitch and follow-up questions with the show’s casting directors. From there, a few people may be chosen to move on to the next round, which is taped and aired.”
