A new restaurant is coming to Center City – well, a new one in an old package.

The Four Points by Sheraton hotel on Race St. is about to go through thirty days of reno as its restaurant undergoes an entire face lift and name change. From the decor to the menu, it’s getting entirely overhauled. Without any space being taken away or added it will go from a forty-two seat restaurant to a fifty seat eatery. But that’s just the beginning.

Looks-wise, it will be out with the old and in with the new. The updated design will utilize “warm, light wood grain, with gray tones similar to concrete,” as per BizJournals.com. Artwork of paper vinyl, wine and whiskey racks, and a refitted bar will marry harmoniously in the new concept.

A new restaurant needs a fresh menu, and the Four Points is to have exactly that. While the existing resto was all about Italian food, the new one will embrace what GM Tara Sheikh calls “Philadelphia-infusion.” A whole new spate of food items will be served, with an emphasis on small plates and local sourcing. The final menu is being sussed out, but it will include spring rolls, “pork pops,” and a variation on the Philly cheesesteak. The bar will feature all-new drinks.

The restaurant will have a new name, too, but that’s not yet been announced given the fact that there’s a legal process to ensure the name is available for use.

The Four Points has ninety-two rooms. The new restaurant is slated to open in the middle of March.
