When you are trying to unload a large plot of land, sometimes the best thing to do is to break it up. That’s the lesson learned for country supercouple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, who have been trying to unload 753 acres of property in Franklin, Tennessee. Located just outside of Nashville, the property consists of several residences separated by miles of rolling green land, pastures, and spring-fed ponds. It’s pastoral glory in a nutshell, pretty much.
Hill and McGraw listed the whole kit and kaboodle for $20 million last year. The parcel is only part of the land that they own in the area. Recently, they sold what Zillow called a “small sliver” of the land – just 130 acres – leaving two remaining parcels up for sale.
The larger of the two, listed for a cool $10 million, sports a historic log home known as the Samuel Morton house that was built in 1800, along with a historic barn and a guest house. The home itself has been wholly updated, and features three bedrooms and four bathrooms over 3,152 square feet. It also boasts 353 acres.
The smaller of the two parcels encompasses about 270 acres. It contains the antebellum “Beechwood Hall,” which was completed four years before the start of the Civil War and which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Additionally, there is a caretaker’s home and storage buildings on-site. The listing mentions that the home does need renovation. A large pond is located nearby. The smaller parcel is listed for $8.5 million.
The couple initially bought all the land in 2001. The larger parcel was bought for $8.75 million and the smaller one was bought for $5 million, meaning the pair stand to make a tidy profit if they get their asking prices on the two lots.
