Girls creator and star Lena Dunham is keeping it local with her newest real estate acquisition: a pretty $4.8 million Brooklyn condo. Dunham just sealed the deal on her new digs, which are located within the same neighborhood in Brooklyn Heights as her current home – a $500,000 apartment that she purchased back in 2012. In case the price didn’t clue you in, however, this one is a lot ritzier.
Dunham’s old flat was a top-floor unit with one bedroom. The new place, located in a five-unit boutique condo building, has four bedrooms and its own elevator. As per the original listing, the unit captures the feel of a “typical brownstone” on just a single level, with an open floor plan and plenty of “modern amenities.” There’s also an automated parking system, and a fountain on the ground floor. It’s located just five minutes from the New York harbor.
Dunham will move into her new place with her boyfriend, Fun frontman Jack Antonoff, as well as their rescue dog, Lamby. According to a recent interview, the pair will be converting two of the four bedrooms into a studio for Antonoff and an office for Dunham. Antonoff has been seen moving the pair’s belongings into the new place while Dunham is on her book tour for her memoirs, Not That Kind of Girl.
The Daily Mail reports that Dunham will not list her old apartment at any point in the near future, as she loves the place dearly. It sounds like the unit has sentimental value to her.
