Jay-Z and Beyonce Set To Drop $70 Mil on Beverly Hills Manse

American royalty Beyonce and Jay-Z are just like us. They found a home that they love, and now they are in the tough position of having to strike down other comers bidding on the same property. The only difference between this and a normal real estate bidding war? Average Joes aren’t flinging around tens of millions of dollars to get their dream home. I mean, most celebrities aren’t even doing that. This is, after all, a pair of international A-list superstars – the stakes are higher.

Talk about large and in charge: the home is absolutely in the category of “ridiculously big.”

It’s hard to even start listing the features within the 23,000 square foot manse that’s up for grabs. Situated in the oh-so-exclusive Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills, the word that best describes it is “extravagant.” TMZ went with “flamboyant,” and that applies as well. Eight bedrooms, fifteen (!) bathrooms, an underground garage for sixteen cars… I’m pretty sure a person could easily get totally lost. Other perks include a 24-seat movie theater, a dedicated candy room, a car showroom, and fire extinguishers designed by couture legend Yves St. Laurent (…why?!).

Right now Bey and Jay are at war with three other parties interested in the home, although, barring one of them being a shah or sheik, it’s laughable to imagine that they will be able to outbid Mr. and Mrs. Carter. It’s known that at least one other “unnamed celebrity” is involved. Reports say that the couple first set their sights on the home this past summer, and have been in negotiations ever since. The place was listed originally for $85 million, and it’s expected that the pair will ultimately close on it for $70 million. Take a moment and let that sink in. Yeah, it’s a eyepopping sum of cash.
