Taking a “Cruise” to Tom’s Old Home

Movie star, former Mr. Katie Holmes, and noted Scientologist Tom Cruise recently put his home in Telluride, Colorado up for sale.

One can see the forest for the trees at Casa Cruise – if they have $59 mil to shell out.

The property is twelve short minutes from downtown Telluride (site of a world-famous ski resort and film festival), and sits on a whopping 298 acres. Sporting four bedrooms and six bathrooms, the main home is about 10,000 square feet. The detached guest house has another three bedrooms and baths. As befits any movie star abode (or, really, any home selling for that much money!), there’s a home gym, library, and rec room, as well as a sports court for tennis, basketball, and ice hockey.

Additionally, there’s a private trail system that offers access to thousands of acres of national park surrounding the property. Love hiking? This one is pretty much a dream come true. (Well, I mean, it’s anyone’s dream come true. But especially if you like walking around in the woods!)

The home was custom built of stone and cedar over the course of years, with completion approximately in the mid-90s.

Cruise’s real estate holdings are not numerous, but they are impressive. Last year he unloaded a $3 million New York City apartment. He still owns the 10,000+ square foot Beverly Hills stunner in which he formerly resided with his ex, a home that he bought for over $30 million. Variety speculates that he also owns a “heavily fortified multi-residence compound on a private ridgeline peninsula in the Hollywood Hills” that was last bought in 2005 for almost $10 million.

Cruise, thrice nominated for Academy Awards, is one of the world’s highest-paid actors. Not that you would have figured that out by the price tags on his homes, right?
