Calling all motor enthusiasts! One of America’s biggest car shows is rolling into town tomorrow, and the excitement is going to last all weekend. If you are looking to escape the cold with a pre-Valentine’s date or get the family out of the house, this show will rev your engines for sure. Occupying 650,000 square feet of the Philadelphia Convention Center, the Philadelphia Auto Show will boast of the coolest, newest cars and trucks in the world. Whether you favor zippy sportsters, bulky muscle trucks, or sedate, fuel-sipping sedans, you’re sure to find something to tickle your fancy.
If you are intrigued by the latest automotive innovations and tech, this is the place to revel in sexy, geeky, gearhead goodness. Big trends on display include “Bluetooth wireless speakerphone connectivity to mobile phones, plus the option to add touch-screen-based “infotainment” systems integrating navigation, phone-based entertainment/information apps and sometimes car climate controls.” All this, and plenty of heavenly new-car smell to boot!
There’s a lot more going on than just vehicular eye candy, too. Visitors will have the chance to test drive new autos from Subaru, Jeep, and Cadillac in a “no-pressure, no sales” environment, as well as to scope out Motor Trend’s 2014 Truck of the Year, the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. Other must-sees include the Ferrari 599 Alonso Edition, one of less than twenty that were made, and custom rides belonging to Eagles players! Harley Davidson is setting up shop with a motorcycle ride-and-drive experience, and there’s an extreme three-wheel obstacle course for the daredevils. With so much to see and do, one day at the show might not be enough!
The Philadelphia Auto Show kicks off tonight with a Black Tie Tailgate gala at 7:30. Tickets are still available as of posting time. General Admission starts tomorrow, February 8th, and runs through next Sunday, February 16th. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids.
